About Elkhorn Ranch - AZ

Fifty-one miles southwest of Tucson, in its own valley where mountains and desert meet, lies the Elkhorn Ranch. Here, since 1945, three generations of the Miller family have owned and operated the ranch, offering exceptional riding and comfortable living for thirty-two guests. Riding is the main interest with gentle or loping rides through the desert and more vigorous trips along the many mountain trails. There are seventy head of horses and the right horse can remain with each guest throughout the visit. Enjoy the sunshine, wintering birds, tennis and swimming. Roomy accommodations and good food.

Ranch Dining: Hearty meals & fresh baked goods. Breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, morning pastries, steel cut oats or homemade granola & hot breakfast to order. Seasonal lunch entrees with fresh fruit and vegies and bountiful cookie platter. Lunch on the trail several days a week if you choose. Enjoy supper in the dining room, warmed by friendship and fireplaces. Mesquite BBQ twice weekly. Guests enjoy cocktails in their cabins before supper or BYO in a glass. Happy to accommodate special needs.
Ranch Activities: Enjoy horseback riding in the scenic Baboquivari Mts and open desert country. Small guided rides are organized daily according to suit riders' interests and abilities. Take a relaxed walks or a vigorous hike. Play at the tennis court or 50" heated pool or enjoy shuffleboard, ping pong or horseshoes, or the well-stocked library. Bring your camera and binoculars - the wintering birds of Southern Arizona are numerous and colorful, views are magnificent and spring flowers can be glorious.
Ranch Lodging: Elkhorn provides comfortable spaces for singles, couples, or families. Cabins are equipped with private baths, electric heat and good reading lights. Some have separate sitting rooms or fireplaces - no television or phones in the rooms. Accommodations are scattered throughout the mesquite to provide privacy and seclusion for rest, sunning on chaise lounges, writing, reading or socializing with friends or family. You'll find a bird feeder outside your door & as much birdseed as you care to feed.
