Gila National Forest

Located in the middle of the 3.3 million-acre Gila National Forest of southwest New Mexico, Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch offers a horseback riding vacation like no other. Daily trail rides will take you through the most vast and pristine wilderness areas with 500ft canyons, crystal-clear creeks, open meadows, and wooded Ponderosa Pine forests.

The Past Comes to Life

Watch the past come to life while exploring the area that Apache warrior, Geronimo himself was born. You’ll visit 1,000-year-old above-ground pueblos, cliff-dwellings with pictographs, pottery shards, and arrowheads of the Mimbres Mogollon Culture while out on your guided trail rides.

All-Inclusive

We offer an all-inclusive package that includes accommodations, three delicious, southwest-style meals a day, unlimited horseback riding/hiking, and all entertainment/activities. Our 4 cabin lodging can accommodate 12 people comfortably and our small size allows us to offer a customizable guest ranch experience. Each cabin comes with a propane fireplace, private bathrooms, covered porches, views of the horses in their pastures, and complimentary fresh baked cookies.

Rave Reviews

We get rave reviews about our fine dining and our amazing Chef can accommodate any dietary restriction. Some of our favorite dishes include Pork Tenderloin, Gila Trout, Pecan-Crusted Chicken, and Steak Cookout. Everything is made in house from salad dressings to breads to delicious desserts and baked goods. Evenings are spent cozy by the campfire with s’mores and stargazing, watching old westerns, or even learning to line dance!

Always a Perfect Time

Our ranch is open end of February through mid-November and we offer stays of 3 nights. With over 280+ sunny days a year and a dry climate (you’ll enjoy the lack of bugs!) and cooler mountain temperature we have moderate temperatures year-round, so it is always a perfect time to pack your bags and head to Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch!

Our ranch has a horseback riding focus. We can ride as much or as little as you want to each day of your stay. All trail rides are guided. Hiking, fishing, and biking are allowed but will be unguided and you will need to bring your own equipment. There are many beautiful trails around the ranch for hiking or biking. In the nearby crystal-clear creeks you can find small bass and catfish, you will need a New Mexico fishing license. Evening activities include board games, movies, campfires with s’mores, line dancing, and stargazing.
